Mercedes M-Class wins Optic 2000 Tunisia 2006 placing 1, 3 and 4
Three MLs started on the Tunisia rally, the "Dakar revenge", in Nice and then through 2000 kilometers of Tunisian sand desert in seven special stages. The M-Class teams are Jean Pierre Strugo with copilot Yves Ferry and Antoine Maze Sencier with navigator Christophe Crespo, both from SDO Competition, and Marc Racine with codriver Richard Cretier. Last year the MLs won the production class. And this year they repeat their success and win again, placing 1, 3 and 4. A Nissan Pathfinder was disqualified due to an too large air restrictor. In the 2006 FIA cross country world cup standings Strugo is leading now with 10 points while Mercedes-Benz leads the production class with 5 points.
