Danish Kleemann and Jason Watt set new record
The danish tuning company Kleemann and the race driver Jason Watt
set a new world record. On the high speed raceway Nardo in Italy,
Jason Watt drove a Kleemann Mercedes ML55K at 282 km/h (176 mph).
Kleemann is a specialist in Kompressor tuned Mercedes engines, and the
company wrote history last year with "The world's fastest 4-door sedan"
- an E55 AMG going 338 km/h (211 mph) on the Papenburg raceway in Germany.
Now the Danes have given Porsche something to live up to, if they want to
reclaim the title as "The world's fastest SUV". The 5.5 litre V8
produces 607 hp and 0-100 km/h is done in 4.9 seconds corresponding to
4.7 secs for the 0-60 mph. Nice performance for a 2.5 ton car!
They used Toyo Proxes S/T tires in the dimension 295/40 R20 114 V
(see road tire page Also: Info page from Toyo(pdf)).
Kleemann uses a Lysholm screw type twin helical blower and an efficient
Laminova intercooler.
