Cyclist Marco Pantani is definitely more at ease in a saddle than behind the wheel of his Jeep. A few years ago, on a Friday he damaged eight vehicles in Milan with his ML430.
The M-Class did well in this offset crash test in 1995. The left front wheel moves back into the footwell. The frame was reinforced under the A-pillar to deflect the tire's rearward movement, starting in 1999.
The IIHS performed the 40 mph offset crash test in 1999.
