It was about eight in the evening, dark, clear weather on a two lane winding county road. As we crested the top of a hill at around 60 mph, we were confronted with a large steer wandering down the middle of the roadway. Her quick reflexes took us to the left, barely missing the beast. Unfortunately, the right front tire found the soft dirt shoulder, and the Jeep launched into a 540 degree roll. When we finally came to a stop upside down, we unlatched the seat belts, descended to the roof and exited through the driver's door, which remarkably would still open. Michelle had a couple of small cuts from the broken windshield, but we were both basically unscathed. There was not a straight body panel left on the Jeep. The cow was still in the road, calmly staring at us. In this case, airliner landing lights would not have helped. MB content: if I have to do it again, next time in an ML. The ESP might have saved the day.
